Top 5 Looks of 2015 (that we absolutely love)

January 27, 2015

It's the beginning of the year again, and that means we've been on the hunt for top make-up trends of the season - just for you.

When we talk about Spring looks, we think about sweet, pastel, demure shades of colours. Loose curls and cute braids to create that fresh, clean look. Well, Spring isn't just all about that girl-next-door style. Sometimes it can be a little over-the-top, too diabetic for some of us.

So because we're forever in love with natural, effortless looks, this season's trends have got just the right things we'd swoon over. Some of these looks actually take our breath away, and we'd like to share them with you.

Here's a list of our top 5 favourite Spring looks for 2015:

1. 'Plum' It Up

We'd usually think that plum shades would be too overpowering for a Spring look, but makeup artist Tom Pecheux at Derek Lam makes mauve eye shadow look effortlessly ethereal. By sticking to nude shades for the rest of the face, the eyes are instantly lit up, and yet it gives off a dreamy, mysterious look. We love the romantic elements.<3

2. Simple, Clean Lines

Winged eyeliner has never gone out of style. Prada has created the perfect winged liner look by keeping it slick and simple. No fancy eyeliner art, just clean lines, while keeping everything else nearly nude. The nude lip colour really works wonders here.

3. Sizzling Hot Red Lips

Yes. We love to have it all-natural most of the time, but we can't resist red lipstick. We absolutely love, love, LOVE this look by Carolina Herrera for Spring 2015. Earthy and gold eye shadow shades subtly enhances the eyes while emphasizing those luscious, red lips. 'nuff said.

4. Tousled Hair

It's back to bed this Spring, literally. An out-of-bed, lightly-styled hairdo is the love this Spring. But don't be fooled by how easy this looks - to create the most natural, air-dried style, hairstylist Eugene Souleiman on The Tory Burch show used a diffuser and texturizing spray. That being said, bedheads are kinda sexy, don't you think?

5. Barely-there Nails

This Spring, do away with the bold, bright colours. Instead, go for a naked, barely-there shade. Choose from flesh tones to soft pinks, and keep it as minimal as possible. Our thoughts? We can't adore this more. For the perfect chic look, apply a single thin layer to reveal some of your nails' natural colour beneath.

And there you have it - 5 top looks that we'd go gaga over this Spring. From the hair, to the face, to the nails, which one's your favourite look? Let us know in the comments section below - we'd really like to hear from you ;)
